Stephanie Lanoue, known to most as Stephe (sounds like “Stephie”), is a master-level artist with a passion for animals. She specializes in creating realistic ocean animals, wildlife and emotive pet portraits using oil or acrylic on museum-quality canvas. Her favorite lifelong activity has been to travel to exotic ocean locations where she could scuba and/ or snorkel through the oceans chasing sea animals with her camera capturing reference photos to paint from.

Her artwork has earned her several awards and can be found in private collections across the southeastern US. She has a master’s degree in Biological Sciences with expertise in marine animals and birds. She combines her knowledge of animals with her passion for art making her paintings truly unique. Her background in Biology sets her apart from other artists painting sea life as she truly has scientific expertise of the animals that she paints! She knows their anatomy, markings, diet, behaviors and much more! And she has actively studied them for a lifetime being part of sleep research on dolphins and oiled bird rehabilitation. She believes strongly in ocean conservation and helping to save dolphins, whales, sea turtles and shorebirds. A percentage from every ocean painting is donated to the Ocean Conservancy organization.

She also loves dogs & paints pet portraits as well. Her pet portrait venture began when a friend asked her to paint a portrait of her beloved dog that had passed away. The joy and gratitude expressed by her friend upon seeing the painting inspired her to focus her artistic talents on capturing the unique personalities of pets as well. Stephe owns 4 dogs and understands that each dog truly has its own personality. She pays close attention to details, especially their eyes, so that she can capture the ‘soul’ of your beloved pet. She has a very realistic style so that the painting looks strikingly similar to your pet. Stephe’s goal is to create art that not only captures the likeness of your pet but also embodies the love and companionship they bring to our lives. Stephe's pet portraits are a heartfelt tribute to the bond between pets and their owners, celebrating the joy and happiness that animals bring into our world. And because she believes every dog should have a good home, food and medical care, she also donates a percentage from every pet painting to the Humane Society to help rescue dogs.
